정영호 개인전 《Double Retina》

작가 정영호는 화면 아래 존재하는 비가시적이고 이질적인 영역을 사진 작업으로 탐구한다. 이번 전시에서는 사회적 문제에 대한 객관적 사실과 실질적 체험의 불일치로 발생하는 인지에 차이에 기반하여, 세상을 감각하는 서로 다른 방식의 균형과 관계를 보여준다. 이는 간접 경험으로 대변되는 스마트폰과 카메라 렌즈를 통한 직접(신체적) 경험이 컬러 사진 속 스크린 화면과 흑백 사진의 비균질성으로 대비되는 형식 등으로 나타난다.

Youngho Jeong focuses on the form of photographic work that reveals the extent beyond visibility. In this exhibition, based on the disagreement between rational comprehension and practical experience of a social issue, Jeong demonstrates balance and relation between different manners of perceiving the world. He suggests the contrast between the indirect encounter through the smartphone, and the direct(optical) experience through the camera lens, with his photographs and installation works.
